Their products can be found in the finest homes and commercial venues around the globe. The company reports over $5 billion dollars in annual revenue with products being sold through a distributor network, direct vendor relationships and e-commerce channels.
CHALLENGE 1: Brand Identity
As sales channels shift and multiply, visual search engine results and e-commerce are playing an increasingly large role in customers’ purchasing decisions. Maintaining the premium-quality, look and feel of TOTO’s brand across channels through product imagery has become essential for customer conversion. The solution lay in migrating to Virtual Photography (a.k.a. digital 3D renders). But with limited in-house staff and expertise, TOTO needed support making the switch.

Novaby's worked closely with TOTO's in-house staff to learn and amplify their aesthetic using their specified softwares and workflows. When corporate software standards changed midway through the process, Novaby proactively switched and re-trained our artists to ensure full customer alignment and superior quality renders.

CHALLENGE 2: Quality and Scale
TOTO not only needed quality, they needed it at scale. Product launch and rendering deadlines vary and change throughout the year, sometimes on short notice. Recruiting and training in-house artists on a permanent or subcontracting basis is cost prohibitive and requires advance notice that is not always available.
HOW WE MADE IT REAL
The Novaby team developed a production pipeline that could scale and flex to produce hundreds of high-quality renders on tight schedules. We stripped the manufacturer's original CAD files to protect their IP, prepped and patched the models, and rendered them in a range of photo-realistic finishes and views for use in the customer's configurator. Files were returned to TOTO in both final and editable formats to preserve their ability to manipulate images on the fly.
